Welcome in Morondava. Late afternoon at the Avenue of the Baobabs for the sunset.

About 4 hours of sandy track south, near the Kirindy-Mitea area, to Belo-sur-Mer, a Vezo village famous for the traditional wooden sailing boats built on the beach.

A free day by the lagoon: watch the boat builders at work, walk to the salt flats, or go out with fishermen in a pirogue.

Inland on a stony track (about 5 hours) through dry forest and villages to the small town of Manja.

Track south to the Mangoky river, crossed by ferry, then on to Morombe on the coast (about 6 hours plus the crossing).

Coastal track to Andavadoaka, a Vezo fishing village with turquoise water and coral reefs.

The track becomes sandier along the coast, past lagoons and fishing camps, to the quiet bay of Salary.

Rest day: beach, dunes, snorkelling or a pirogue trip with local fishermen.

Last stretch of track (about 120 km) to Ifaty and its spiny forest, then Tuléar.

On the tarred RN7 to Ranohira, the gateway to Isalo (about 5 hours). Sunset at the Isalo Window.

Full day of hiking among sandstone canyons, oases and natural swimming pools.

Back to Tuléar for your flight to Antananarivo, or continue north on the RN7 (Anja, Ranomafana, Antsirabe) with a few extra days.
