A UNESCO World Heritage forest of razor-sharp limestone needles. Getting there is an adventure in itself — we handle the 4x4, the ferries and the timing.
The Grand Tsingy circuits use ladders, cables, suspended bridges and narrow passages between the limestone blades — an unforgettable but physical hike. The Petit Tsingy, close to Bekopaka, is easier and still spectacular.
Many visitors also take a pirogue on the Manambolo River to see its gorge and caves.
From Morondava the road goes north past the Avenue of the Baobabs to Belo-sur-Tsiribihina and then to Bekopaka, with river ferry crossings on the way. It is a long day on dirt roads, only possible in the dry season — which is why we use 4x4 vehicles with experienced local drivers.
The Tsingy area is usually reachable from about April–May to November. During the rainy season the roads become impassable and the park closes its main circuits.
The Grand Tsingy is demanding: harnesses, ladders and some exposure to height. The Petit Tsingy is much easier and suits most people.
At least 3 days from Morondava. With 4 days you can add Kirindy Forest and the Avenue of the Baobabs without rushing.
Usually not — the roads close in the rains. Plan your trip between about April–May and November.
